2015 Street Stock Rules & Procedures
A. No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances are to be consumed before or during races by anyone entering the pit area.
B. Kokomo Speedway officials reserve the right to reject or allow the entry of any driver or car.
C. Rule changes or interpretation of rules is at the discretion of track officials.
D. The decision of track officials is final.
E. Suspensions will be strictly enforced for fighting or any other acts the management of Kokomo Speedway deem inappropriate. Any actions that need be will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
2. DRIVER/CREW MEMBER CONDUCT
A. Physical Altercations in the pits or on the speedway premises at any time is prohibited and subject to suspension or exclusion. Anyone involved in any form of a physical altercation with a speedway employee will be suspended indefinitely and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
If you are involved in any physical altercation, you will be suspended for a minimum of the next four racing events. In an addition of the suspension, you will be required to pay a minimum fine of $500.00 before being allowed on the speedway property.
If you are involved in a second physical altercation during the racing season, you will be suspended for a minimum of one year from date of this incident. In an addition of the suspension, you will be required to pay a minimum fine of $1000.00 before being allowed on the speedway property
B. The driver assumes responsibility for the actions of his or her pit crew at all times on speedway property. Drivers will be issued the following penalties for pit crew misconduct. If any of the driver’s crew is involved in a physical altercation, you will be fined a minimum of $250.00 for each crewmembers actions. You will not be allowed to compete at the speedway until the fine or fines are paid in full.
C. Abuse of any Kokomo Speedway official and use of improper language or obscene gestures at any time is prohibited and subject to following penalties.
You will be escorted from speedway grounds, and suspended from one week of racing activities. Also you will be fined a minimum of $100.00, before being allowed on the speedway grounds.
If are involved in a second incident during the race season, you will be escorted from speedway grounds, and suspended for four weeks of racing activities. Also you will be fined a minimum of $500.00, before being allowed on the speedway grounds.
If are involved in a third incident during the race season, you will be escorted from speedway grounds, and suspended for one year of racing activities from the date of this incident. Also you will be fined a minimum of $1000.00, before being allowed on the speedway grounds.
D. Un-sportsmanlike driving, rough driving, or unnecessary bumping is prohibited and will result in removal from a race. If you are disqualified during any event for rough driving, the following penalties will result from these actions.
You will forfeit all prize money and points for that evening and be suspended from the speedway grounds for the next racing event.

3. RACING RULES
A. At no time shall any non-competing member, crew member, owner or other person associated with a race car be permitted on the racing surface following the start of a race and prior to the final lap without the express permission of a Speedway official. Failure to do so could lead to immediate removal from speedway property. This rule is in place for your crewmembers safety.
B. Kokomo Speedway officials reserve the right to request a doctor’s release at any time, for a said driver to participate at Kokomo Speedway.
C. Driver and car changes are permitted only prior to the official start of a race. The official start of a race is when the field enters the track. When determining the official start, one lap does not have to be completed. However, scoring for position does not begin until one green flag lap has been completed. All cars will need to enter the track under their own power to get start money and points. After that point, no change of drivers is permitted. Driver changes may occur only if the driver is qualified for that said race. Any drivers making a change will go to the tail of the field. Points earned will be awarded to the driver starting the race. If a driver wishes to change cars prior to the event start, only the driver or crew chief is allowed to inform the official in the pit tower of the change prior to the start of the race. If this does not occur, the driver will forfeit all points and payout earned in the event. NO EXCEPTIONS.
D. On a yellow or red flag that happens on the start of a race, any car(s) that enter the pits will go to the tail of the field, even though a lap has not been completed. All repairs or adjustments to cars must be made in the pits. This includes portions of the race run under yellow or red flag conditions. Violation will result in the car being placed at the rear of the field.
E. Cars may only enter the track from the backstretch, as directed from the pit steward.
F. No electronic communication devices are permitted within the car.
G. If a driver refuses the officials order to take a certain position on the track (i.e. go to the back of the field), resulting in a delay of the race, he/she will be penalized one lap or will be Black-flagged.
H. When the black flag has been displayed to a racecar, scoring of the car shown the flag will stop until the car returns to the track from the pits after the required consultation.
I. A driver meets rookie qualifications for his/her division if he/she raced in six or fewer races in a single previous season in that division.
G. All Kokomo Speedway drivers must be a minimum of 14 years of age to compete.
The definition of stock is no modifications to factory parts or specifications. The absence of a specific rule does not imply approval, consent or permission regarding that subject. Any and all questions regarding such matters should be directed to a Kokomo Speedway official.
1) SFI-approved full fire suit is required.
2) Fire retardant gloves and shoes are mandatory.
3) Neck brace or head and neck restraint system is recommended.
4) Driver-side window net required, minimum 16 inch by 20 inch ribbon or mesh style, and must be mounted to roll cage so latch is at top front of window.
5) Snell-rated SA2000, SA2005 or SA2010 helmet required.
6) Minimum three inch wide SFI-approved five point safety belt assembly required (Y-type shoulder harness not allowed), must be mounted securely to roll cage, recommended to be no more than two years old. It is the responsibility of the driver, not the officials or the track to ensure that his/her seat belt restraint system and all components are SFI approved, correctly installed, maintained and properly used.
7) Kill switch required within easy reach of driver and must be clearly marked ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’.
8) Roll bar padding required in driver compartment (Fire retardant recommended).
9) Cars must have fire extinguisher in reach of the driver.
1) All cars must be American-made passenger cars with a minimum wheelbase of 107 inches.
2) The same corporation that built the car must build the engine. For example, if a Chevrolet engine is used in another GM product, the engine must mount in the stock Chevrolet location.
ENGINE and TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS
1) No aluminum heads or block.
2) Cars with Roller Cams must add +50 pounds of weight in front on the motor plate.
3) Aluminum intake is permitted.
4) Any gasoline carburetor – 1 only.
5) Any ignition system permitted.
6) Engine must not set back any further than #1 spark plug with front ball joint.
7) Automatic or manual transmission permitted.
8) No quick-change transmission or rear end.
9) One drive shaft loop is mandatory but two loops are recommended. The loop must be must be mounted 12 inches behind transmission, under drive shaft. The drive shaft must be painted white.
10) RACEceiver one way communication device is mandatory.
1) 3000 LBS with 500cfm 4412 two barrel carburetor.
2) 3200 LBS with four barrel carburetor.
3) +100 LBS with STOCK appearing aluminum body.
1) The following parts must remain stock, in stock location, unaltered and OEM for the make and model of the car: *Frame*Hubs*Spindles*Steering Linkage*Control Arms Ford and Chrysler products must have stock frames for that models year. Example: Strut cars must run struts.
2) Spring adjusters or jacking bolts are permitted.
3) After market racing springs and racing shocks may be used.
4) Any OEM type rear housing permitted but must remain in stock wheelbase location. Trailing arms & springs must be in factory or stock position. Floater axles are permitted.
5) No brake adjuster, four working brakes are mandatory.
6) Tubular upper A-arms permitted.
7) Rear suspension components used must be OEM to the exact make and model of car.
1) Steel racing wheels up to eight inches maximum width are allowed.
2) No aluminum or mag wheels or homemade wheels are allowed.
3) One inch lug nuts are mandatory on both sides of the vehicle.
4) Bead locks are allowed.
1) Hoosier E mod tire. D, H, or A compounds.
2) 8″ American Racer Tire.
3) No Grooving, No Siping, No Treating.
BODY, INTERIOR and FRAME
1) All cars must have complete bodies using original type body parts. Body dimensions must remain as factory produced.
2) All body panels must be securely fastened or welded at all times. Wire ties or plastic are not permitted.
3) All body parts must be made of steel or aluminum. Plastic noses may be used.
4) Windshield rock screens with 3 bars are mandatory.
5) High back, wrap-around aluminum racing seats are mandatory. Seat is to be securely fastened to the frame or roll cage. The tubing is to be a minimum of one inch.
6) All front and rear bumpers must be safety chained to the frame or hoop bar. Each bumper must have a towing chain attached.
7) Hoods and trunk lids must be securely fastened with a pin type fastener or other approved method, excluding bolts and chains.
8) Bodies must be in stock location.
9) Maximum of an 8 inch spoiler.
10) Any battery that is mounted inside the driver’s compartment must be completely enclosed in a marine-type box, with a lid and mounted securely.
11) All ballast (lead) must be painted white with the car number in a contrasting color. If lead is lost on the track, the responsible car will be black-flagged.
1) Pump gas/racing fuel only. No alcohol, methanol or nitrous oxide permitted.
2) No electric fuel pumps.
3) Fuel cell mandatory. Maximum 22-gallon capacity. Two – one inch steel safety straps must be completely around fuel cell, top-front-bottom-rear.
4) Fuel cell must have twelve inches of ground clearance.
1) All cars must have a complete four-post roll cage welded to the frame and must be inspected by a tech official.
2) Main cage must be made of 1 1/2 inch O.D. seamless steel tubing with no less than a .095-inch wall thickness.
3) No bars shall protrude through windshield, windows, or body panels.
4) All cars must have a minimum of three door bars on the left side and 2 door bars on the right side.
5) Critical joints of the driver’s side must have gusset plates. The driver’s door bars should have 1/8 inch steel doorplates.
1) An approved complete racing fire suit and fireproof gloves is required. Fireproof shoes, and neck collar are highly recommended.
2) A helmet of Snell 2000 or higher quality is mandatory. Full-face helmet is strongly recommended.
3) All cars must have approved safety belts consisting of shoulder harness, lap belts and crotch belt. These belts must fasten directly to the frame of the cage, not the floor pan.
4) Roll bar padding is mandatory around the driver’s compartment. NO substitutions.
5) Window nets are mandatory.
6) Batteries must be securely fastened. No rubber straps or elastic cords. Batteries inside driver’s compartment must be securely fastened in metal or plastic battery
box and must be covered to prevent spills.
7) On board fire extinguishers are mandatory.
8) One drive shaft loop is mandatory but two loops are recommended. The loop must be must be mounted 12 inches behind transmission, under drive shaft. The drive shaft must be painted white.
9) All ballast (lead) must be painted white with the car number in a contrasting color. If lead is lost on the track, the responsible car will be black-flagged.
1) Numbers with letters are allowed. Make the letter is large enough to be seen from the tower.
2) Numbers must measure minimum of 22 inches high by a minimum of 15 inches in width. The thickness of the number must be no less than 3 inches.
3) Color of the number must be contrasting with the car color.
4) Numbers must be located on both doors and the roof of the car. Put the roof number so it can be read from the tower when the car is in the front stretch.
5) Car number above the right rear bumper is recommended.
6) The car must be washed prior to each night’s events. Throughout the night if the number becomes covered with mud it must be washed before participating in the
next event so the scoring team can read the number.
The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of the racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for
such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.
NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM THE PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. These rules are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death of a participant, spectator or official.
THE PROMOTER/TRACK OFFICIALS SHALL BE EMPOWERED TO PERMIT MINOR DEVIATION FROM ANY OF THE SPECIFICATION HEREIN OR IMPOSE FURTHER RESTRICTIONS THAT IN THEIR OPINIONS DO NOT ALTER THE MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHOULD RESULT FORM SUCH ALTERATIONS OF SPECIFICATIONS. ANY INTERPRETATION OR DEVIATION OF THESE RULES IS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE PROMOTER/TRACK OFFICIALS.
PROMOTER/OFFICIAL DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

Any driver competing at the speedway during a point-paying event must have a Kokomo Speedway Membership Card.
Cost of this card is $20.00 for the season.
Must present this card at driver registration & driver payout. (No Card = No Pay)
If the card is lost, one replacement card will be furnished for free. All replacement cards from that point will cost $10.00.
All heat races will be lined up based on pill draw.
B Main(s) line up will be based on heat race results.
A Main will start straight up based on heat results or with an inversion of 6 based on first heat race winners redraw.
Heat Races are 8 Laps
B Main(s) are 8 Laps
A Mains are 15 Laps
Typically a maximum of 20 cars will start the A Main.
Kokomo Speedway officials due to time or car count factors may shorten races.
If you are involved in an accident & stop on the speedway at any time, you will be placed at the tail for the restart. If you are involved in 2 yellow flags during one race event, you will be disqualified from that event. If you are involved in a caution on the initial start, you will not receive your original starting spot back. You will go to the tail.
Starts and Restarts
Jumping on initial start of any event
The front row will have two chances to start a race. If either driver jumps both of these starts, the entire front row goes to the tail for the next attempt.
All restarts are single file, nose to tail to the restart cone on the front stretch. If you knock over the restart cone you will be placed at the tail. If you contact the driver in front of you & he hits the cone, you will be placed at the tail.
